Parents of Kansas City Restaurant Explosion Victim File Wrongful Death Lawsuit The scene of the explosion in February. Several companies, including Missouri Gas Energy and Time Warner Cable Midwest, have been named in a lawsuit filed last week by the parents of Megan Kramer, who was killed at JJ's restaurant in Kansas City during a gas explosion earlier this year. Though several people were left injured by the blast and its effects on February 19, the 46-year-old restaurant hostess was the only person who died as a direct result of the incident.
